SAN JOSE, Calif.
– A wooded park in the San Jose area that was once home to a horse ranch and cattle ranch is expected to open to the public in the fall, according to officials.
Woodland Park is located near the San Mateo River in the foothills of Silicon Valley.
It is open every day of the year.
Officials say the park is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the park has about 2,000 acres.
The park was a horse farm and ranch, but was sold last year to an unnamed group, according of the San Joaquin Valley Regional Park District.
The district plans to open the park to the general public starting in early December, and plans to keep the park open until at least 2019, according the district.
Woodlands Park is part of the Silicon Valley Regional Parks, which include the San Rafael, San Jose, and San Jose Peaks.
