NEW YORK — Tiger Woods will open a museum in New England this fall, joining a growing number of golfers who are moving to the New York metropolitan area.
The Woods Museum will open at the site of the old John C. Woods Tennis Center in Greenwich, Connecticut, on Sept. 11, according to the Woods Museum’s website.
Woods said the museum will be the third-largest in the world, surpassing the Royal Golf Club in London, the largest museum in England.
Woods has been on a shopping spree in New Haven, Connecticut since joining the Ryder Cup team.
He recently purchased the property behind the old tennis facility and plans to build a luxury hotel next door.
Woodens is the third golfer to visit the site since the club announced it would move its home to its current site in 2007.
